鄭浩在22日的《新聞今日談》節目裡評論，川普已從三方面挑戰中美關係，第一是政治基礎，即「一中政策」這個中美關係的政治基礎；第二是中美經貿，他認為，這是兩國關係發展的「壓艙石」，但川普現在任命了一位鷹派、「痛恨中國」的納瓦洛，擔任白宮國家貿易委員會主任，鄭浩直指，未來中美經貿關係，將會發生一系列重大變化。

他提到，過去在看中美關係，有五大「傳統思維」，已經完全不適用川普團隊，他認為中國必須要警惕。這五大在未來不見得能再適用的「傳統思維」分別為：第一、新總統上任後，會改變他在競選期間的一些做法；第二、中美關係總有一個概念，當做指導兩國關係發展的基礎，如2012年提出的「新型大國關係」。第三、中美之間有很多機制，保障兩國關係不會出現大問題；第四、現有的危機管控機制未來還會發生作用，但從南海的潛航器事件即可發現，這些機制已受到挑戰；第五、美方在涉及中國核心利益的問題上，不會去挑戰中國底線。
